Javier Royo (B. Zaragoza, 1972) is a designer and the manager of Estudio JAVIRROYO. He graduated in Design with honours from the University of the Basque Country; he is a specialist in Corporate Identity, Design and New Technologies.
With more than fifteen years experience in the world of design and Internet, he published the book Diseño Digital (Digital Design) in 2004, Ed. Paidós (distributed in Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil), in the publishing company's design collection, directed by Joan Costa .
He collaborates on digital design topics in the design and communication magazine VISUAL (Madrid), where he has a regular section, and he has also written articles for many specialised magazines.
As a specialist in Branding and Digital Design, he has taught in the Istituto Europeo di Design, (Madrid) and the Escola Superior de Disseny (ESDi-Universitat Ramon Llull), Barcelona. He has also given many conferences (Summer Courses in El Escorial (Madrid), Courses in Havana (Cuba), Congreso Supervisual (Colombia), DH10 (México), etc.).
As an illustrator, he has worked for El País and El Semanal as well as publishing companies such as Santillana. He currently collaborates in the magazine Interviú (Grupo Zeta) illustrating Juan José Millás .
He has also participated in design exhibitions such as "Signos de un Siglo" (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, 2000), in the exhibition "Sin límites. Visiones del Diseño actual" ( Palacio de Sástago , Zaragoza, 2003), in Motiva (Graphic Design Awards and Conferences of Asturias) and more recently in the exhibition "Otros Quijotes. Los diseñadores españoles reinventan el personaje" (Castilla-La Mancha Autonomous Government, in collaboration with the Sociedad Estatal para el Desarrollo del Diseño y la Innovación (State Company for the Development of Design and Innovation - DDI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, 2005).
